From infant to age two, a nursery is staffed and available during both services and during Sunday School. The children enjoy an interactive time of reading, snacks and play time. If a child is tired, there is a quiet room available to sleep.
Sunday School is available for ages two through adult. Ages two through grade six study the Gather 'Round curriculum. The Junior Youth Fellowship -- "JYF" is for grades 7-8. The Mennonite Youth Fellowship -- "MYF" is for high school age youth. Both study a variety of lesson series. The nine adult classes study from the uniform series or from books of their choosing. Once or twice a year, elective classes are offered to the adult classes to encourage intergenerational learning.
One of Whitestone's core ministries is WOW - Whitestone On Wednesday. WOW runs September through April. This is an extensive Christian Education program for grades 1-12, based on the Logos program. Children start the evening off by participating in activites. These range from crafts, to woodworking, to playing games outdoors. Next, is dinner time. Children of various ages are grouped with two table parents. Each table remains the same for one WOW year. After dinner, the table groups go to worship time, where they sing, hear stories and learn more about Jesus. An hour of Bible time finishes the evening. Each class goes to their Sunday school room where they are taught from the Logos curriculum.
